1. Fresh vegetable juicing, mostly greens. I have talked about the benefits of green juice endlessly. There’s a reason for that. It’s a powerful healer, cleanser, source of hydration, nourishment and easily assimilated and digested. In short, it’s the shizzle.

2. Focus on fresh vegetables first. There are a ton of delicious raw food products and recipes out there that taste amazing and can really provide a great sense of having a “treat” or eating something really comforting and indulgent. However these foods typically are very dense and hard to digest also. To succeed on raw food, your focus needs to be on fresh vegetables first and foremost. Now for the yummy juice recipe I have been loving madly!

Spicy Icy Virgin Mojito Juice

Ingredients:

Mojito Juice ingredients thumb Spicy Icy Virgin Mojito Juice + 3 Day Get Juicy Sprint!

3 limes

3 large cucumbers

1 large head cos/romaine lettuce

6 stalks kale

1/2 cup basil, loosely packed

1/3 cup mint, loosely packed

2 trays of ice (for the whole recipe…drink half with1 tray then use another tray later for the rest)

Pinch of cayenne pepper (or to taste)

1 dropper of plain stevia (or to taste)

Directions:

Put all ingredients except the ice, stevia and cayenne through a juicer. Add the juice into a blender and these 3 ingredients. Pulse until ice is crushed but not completely blended. Serve in a cocktail glass (or Guinness pint glass like I did!) and sip away.

Juicing On The Go + Detox Workshop Pics!

We are over one week into 2012 now. How’s yours progressing? I’m hoping as productive, progressive and full of heart, love and purpose as mine has been already!

I have been particularly busy as I hosted my Yoga And Detox Weekend Workshop this past weekend in Perth with the lovely Yoga teacher Courtney Helena.

It was an amazing weekend with wonderful women committed to pursuing their health and body goals, being educated and inspired and really challenging themselves to grow and be the best they can be. In short, these ladies rock and I am humbled and honoured, as always, at the opportunity to teach and inspire such incredible people every day by living my purpose. Now that is fulfilling!

I have some photos to share with you of the weekend but first some tips for juicing on the go…something I have been doing a lot of over the holidays and with my extremely busy work schedule lately. I have been living off pack and go green juices and about two to four hours sleep. A clean lifestyle has never proven itself so worthy!

Juicing On The Go Tips:

  • Take your juices with you everywhere! It might seem obvious but you just never know how long things can take, what obstacles you may face and how hungry you may get. Always have juices on hand to keep you satiated and out of a bag of cookies!

  • Make a little more juice than you think you’ll need. I’ve been doing this a lot lately with 18+ hour workdays. It has proven completely invaluable and there’s only been one instance where I didn’t want the extra juice. You can then just keep it for later or give it to a fiend or family member.
  • Get up earlier than normal to make your juices. It’s worth the small sleep sacrifice to be prepared so that you get your hydrating, alkalinity in and as a result continue to dramatically transform and cleanse your body, heal and energise.
  • Take your juices with you in a cooler bag with ice packs. This keeps them cool and fresher for longer. I take this handy little bag with me almost every day lately.

  • If you are going away, are at the office all day or somewhere where it is possible to use it, take your juicer with you and make juices wherever you are! I took my juicer to a hotel I stayed at recently and juiced my day’s worth in the morning to take on the road with me.
  • Stick to primarily green juices and use simple recipes you love. This eliminates hassle when produce shopping, keeps you balanced and allows life to be simpler when you are busy.
  • Make a 100% commitment to taking the time to make or find juices. Simply decide you will be doing this every day and find a way no matter what. When you take any other options off the table you are only left with one option: to do it. Step into this mindset and leave the guesswork behind!
  • Research juice bars in your area, whether that is in your local area or where you are travelling to. Pre-order juices or organise your day to go via juice bars so you are always sure to have plenty of liquid nourishment. If you are lucky enough to have a juice bar nearby that can provide you with a day of juices, consider investing the money for your busiest days. It’s a far better investment to pay a little more for some fresh juices than a cheaper coffee and muffin for a stimulating hit when you are over tired, over busy and stressed out.
  • Bottles of coconut water and fresh citrus juices, while not on the same level as fresh green juice or fresh coconut water, will get you through a day of liquids without sacrificing your commitment and health goals. I always grab a bottle of coconut water when I’m on the go and just need something to get me through until my next juice.
  • Get help! Ask your partner, family or housemates to help and support you. Perhaps you can get them on board and you can alternate days with your juice making so that you can each get a break from the juicer. Most of all, enjoy the way that fresh vegetable juice every day nourished every cell of your body, makes you feel energetic and truly amazing and hang on to that when you feel like flaking on the couch and having a chocolate bar instead of your juice. 2011 is almost over. Has it been everything you hoped for? Have you challenged and supported yourself to grow, expand, clean out and balance so that you are more conscious, healthy and happy than ever before?
