Easy Raw Recipe: Carrot, Coriander and Hemp Dip
It’s been a fun and busy week with lots of wonderful clients, program work, meeting up with raw food crew while Phillip McCluskey and Julie-Ann Booth are here for their Sexy On Raw tour and lots more goodness.
Out for diner with Sexy On Raw Phillip McCluskey and Julie-Ann Booth and Perth raw foodies.
With all the fun, I haven’t had much time or inclination to get into the kitchen so my meals have been very quick and easy. Think juices (of course!), smoothies, three ingredient salads and a lovely simple dip or two. Today I want to share one of them with you as it was so light, refreshing and tasty.
Before I share the recipe, I want to remind you that the Raw Done Right program is starting in just 10 days time!

Now for today’s recipe!
This recipe includes some of my all time favourite ingredients: carrot, coriander (cilantro), lemon, hemp seeds, cumin and turmeric. These ingredients = love!
If you are not familiar with hemp seeds, now is the time to get acquainted.
These little seeds of pleasure pack a serious nutritional punch, especially in their essential fatty acids and protein profile. If, like me, you are interested in keeping your skin healthy and supple, omega 3s are absolutely essential in your diet. They also support proper brain and nerve function. Yes that’s right, they can make you more mentally focused, clearer and intelligent!![]()
Your body doesn’t make omega 3s so you have to get them from food. Hemp seeds are a very rich source of them and they taste wonderful when used fresh in salads, dips, sauces and dressings, and sprinkled over a bowl of piping hot veggies.
Where do I get hemp seeds you might be asking? Well if you are in Australia you will be happy to know that I am now selling them. I love them that much
.
Just email me to get your fresh hemp seeds and I’ll hook you up.
They are much more readily available in the US and UK so if you are over there check out your local health food stores and organic and raw food suppliers.
Here is a yummy way to use them:
Carrot, Coriander and Hemp Dip
Ingredients:
2 large carrots, chopped
1/4 cup fresh coriander, packed
1/3 cup hemp seeds
Juice of 1 lemon
1 teaspoon of cumin
1/4 teaspoon turmeric
4 drops stevia
Sea salt and cracked black pepper to taste
1/4 cup of water (or more if you don’t have a high speed blender)
Directions:
Place all the ingredients in a high speed blender (or add more water if you don’t have one). Blend until smooth and creamy.
Serve over salad, with vegetable crudités, whole grain crackers, spouted grain bread or stir through a bowl of hot millet, quinoa or brown rice – yum!
This dip took me all of four minutes to make. It tastes wonderful, felt so light and refreshing as it is mostly carrot and looks beautiful with it’s bright orange colour.
You could certainly play around with this recipe to give it more complexity. Adding garlic, more hemp seeds or some sunflower seeds, a pinch of cayenne or chilli and some ginger would be sensational!
There will be many more recipes of a similar (and better!) calibre in the Raw Done Right program so you can learn ultra quick and easy ways to satisfy your appetite and your taste buds!

favorite dip is usually making homemade hummus or guacamole
Yes we definitely have similar tastes!
Hi Casey I love hempseed so it is great I am sure. Do you use only seed in your recipes or nuts too? I mean nuts are little bit more heavy for detox purpose so just asking if you eat them too. I also love chia seed in pudding they are great sourse of omega 3 too:)
Hi Sam, in this recipe I only used the seeds but I do use nuts sometimes. I much prefer seeds for dips and sauces though and nuts to eat some of plain as a snack.
Hi Casey,
Do you have a recc for this without coriander? I don’t know why but I can’t stand it, this dip looks amazing though!
Hi Annette,
Yes for sure! This is wonderful with basil or dill instead
are seeds like hemp and chia ok on a detox? are they similar to avocados kinda?
I hope you post more recipes soon I love them:)
They are Aubrey. They are a good source of omega 3s!
